Nikki Gal: The power of reinventing

Nikki, tell us about your modeling career. How did it start and where did it begin?

I started modeling in 2014, I was fifteen years old. Over the past 10 years, I’ve been involved in the fashion industry as a model— it’s been a journey. I’m grateful for the creative experiences I’ve had and the innovative individuals I’ve met.

How did your career develop at 5’10’’? What did you have to overcome?

I’ve always been tall from a young age, so I took advantage of my height. When I was growing up, I learned that fashion models are tall, which inspired me. I was always one of the tallest girls in my grade during my school years and I never really knew much about the modeling industry until I started seeing runway shows on television. The modeling industry soon sparked my interest as a young girl, which led me to take advantage of my height in the fashion industry.

What personal qualities helped you in the modeling industry and what character traits did you have to display when starting your own business?

The power of reinventing myself as a woman has helped me navigate both my modeling and my business careers. Actively and creatively reinventing myself in a fast-paced industry has been something I’ve adapted to for years. Learning to adapt to different concepts and skills has led me to become the best version of myself both personally and professionally.

How did your entrepreneurship begin and how did the idea of combining two businesses come about?

I started my entrepreneurial career in 2019, at 20 years old. Having a background in fashion, I wanted to develop more creative outlets for myself and others in the business world. My dream was to create a variety of different versatile businesses that were interconnected. I'm a model-preneur, which is a term that’s a play on words. I believe a multi-faceted lifestyle is attainable for every individual if they have a dream they seek to pursue. The process of combining and connecting my businesses through the years has been a challenge, but a rewarding one. Designing and creative directing my own fashion brand, Gal Intimates, has been such a great experience as I can put to use both my modeling background and my fashion background for brand development. I plan on capitalizing more on my creative entrepreneurial passions in the near future.

Managing my companies and my modeling career keeps me busy, but I enjoy every minute of my life. One of my biggest secrets is skincare. I enjoy tuning into myself at the end of the day, and investing in skincare products that are the best fit for my skin. I recently have been routinely using a collagen-based face cream at night, which has been helping me rejuvenate my skin. Finding the best self-care regimen for your own schedule is a must!
