Dior's Spring/Summer 2024 Haute Couture collection combines art and couture elements.

'Aura' is the watchword of the newly-unveiled Dior Couture&nbsp;Spring-Summer 2024 collection. In it Maria Grazia Chiuri&nbsp;explored the idea that couture, by its very essence, creates clothes that become unique to their wearer and extensions of their identity. With the first look out on the runway, the Creative Director of Dior women's collections also broadened the concept to encompass the aura of the garments themselves, riffing on the identity of the classic trench coat by transposing its form and cotton twill fabric into unexpected iterations.

The Creative Director of the Dior women's collection traces the essence of couture and its ultimate excellence by tracing the history of the Maison's haute couture. Designed by Christian Dior for the Fall/Winter 1952 season, the La Cigale dress, with its sculptural structure and moir&eacute; fabrics, evokes the sanctity of the Maison's atelier and sets the stage for the theory of reinterpreting haute couture. The delicate boundary between art and life.
The striking hues accentuate the colour of the fabric, appearing in gold, white, grey, burgundy and green. The garments embody this glamorous illusion, recreating the geometric lines of the La Cigale collection and creating an elegant architectural style: a large coat with a statement collar, a loose skirt for an exaggerated cut, cascading layers, trousers and coats. These looks reinterpret the details of the iconic Dior dresses and recreate the look in style. Cotton and silk combine in ragged colors to create a charming, innovative and classic effect.

A black velvet dress elevates the look, while a sumptuous feather cape can be draped over an embroidered organza dress. Embroidery is like a fragment of an ancient poem unearthed, which leads to reverie. The Millefiori motif adorns the entire yellow corrugated skirt, and the long lines sway to the rhythm of the footsteps, reminiscent of colorful nature.&nbsp;For this reason,&nbsp;Maria Grazia Chiuri&nbsp;has created a three-dimensional aura of haute couture with a distinctive colour and structural elements in the collections, embodying an extraordinary experience that is both thoughtful and expressive, reflecting the spirit of creativity and change.
