If we got a coin for every mention of see-through dresses, we'd already own a private villa in Portofino. But in spring 2025, this trend has finally gained volume, depth and, importantly, a new subtext.

Simone Rocha creates the illusion of elusive femininity, balancing on the edge between sophisticated art and deliberate boldness. Chlo&eacute; reminds us that transparent silks and airy ruffles can not only speak of dreaminess, but also translate strength. The key is not to turn into a Victorian doll. Dilute the chiffon with solid boots or austere pants, and the world won't be able to decide whether you're a designer's reverie or the new voice of the feminist movement.

RÓHE's camisole has an air of feminine ease and elegance. Made from fluid silk-twill, it's trimmed with contrasting black lace and has extra long straps that can be tied to your ideal fit. 

There's an elegant, ethereal spirit to Stella McCartney's dress. Made from panels of silk crepe de chine, it has delicate lace trims and a layered bodice that fastens with languid ties. Lift the fluttery hem with heels. 

Jonathan Simkhai is interested in construction, from architecture to sculpture and clothing, which feeds into his technical and precise designs. This slip dress is made from lustrous satin-crepe and paneled with romantic lace at the hem, midline, waist and bodice. It looks so chic with strappy sandals and minimal jewelry. 

Alessandro Michele’s debut collection at the creative helm of Valentino Garavani proves maximalism still holds a prominent place in the industry. This blouse is made from pastel-yellow silk crepe de chine and has a sheer lace panel along the center that creates bold drama - it's framed by ruffles and pintucks that add textural dimension and contrast. 

Cut from delicate black stretch-lace, Norma Kamali's dress has a bustier bodice complete with underwired cups and falls to a fluttery midi hem. The built-in bodysuit tempers its sheer finish. 

Kika Vargas' 'Somaly' midi dress borrows elements from lingerie - note the romantic lace paneling and delicate bow ties. It's been made locally to the brand in Colombia from lustrous silk-satin and has pin-thin straps. 

Chloé's midi dress is decorated with romantic lace trims and pretty ruffles that enhance the bohemian feel. It's made from lightweight crepe de chine in a floaty, tiered design with slim straps. Style yours with sneakers or knee boots. 

The allure of Old Hollywood glamour inspires Dolce&Gabbana’s Spring ’25 collection. Cut from sheer silk-chiffon, this dress is printed with painterly roses and has a billowy shape with a wrap-effect waist. Fasten the neck ties into a chic pussy-bow. 

Cut from crepe with a plunging neckline, Chloé's airy dress is overlaid with a billowing silk-crepon cape that's trimmed with delicate ruffles. It has an adjustable drawstring so you can cinch the waist and falls to a sweeping maxi hem. 

Rabanne's camisole channels Y2K styles through a particularly romantic lens. It's made from sheer, intricate lace with pretty scalloped edges and has adjustable straps to create the ideal fit. The cups are lined for coverage. 

For Isabel Marant's Spring '25 collection "tropical inspiration meets the artisanal spirit." This 'Rafael' dress is made from silk-crepon that's ruched through the bodice and has a cutout neckline and straps looped with gold-tone beads. 

Alaïa's midi dress embodies sweet femininity and effortlessness. Made from floaty georgette, it's gathered at the cinched waist to create beautiful draping and has a plunging V-neckline and reinforced peplum detail. 

Gucci's shirt is made from sheer silk-chiffon and has oversized pussy-bow ties. The voluminous sleeves are softly gathered, adding to its ethereal feel. Underpin yours with a tonal bralette or the accompanying camisole.

Zimmermann's blouse is cut from dévoré-crepe de chine and patterned with plush velvet flowers. Designed for a loose fit, it has voluminous sleeves with elasticated cuffs and a chic pussy bow. It's underpinned with a detachable satin-jersey camisole to temper the sheerness.

Alaïa's asymmetric blouse is artistically draped for elegant appeal. It’s made from lightweight chiffon with a turtleneck and blouson sleeves. The waist and cuffs are designed for a close fit.
