Nika Lemle (@nika_lemle), image stylist, producer and fashion magazine styling creative director. A few years ago, Nika had the courage to change her life drastically and moved from Siberia to New York, because she believes that people should follow their dream and do what the heart is telling them.

Nika, how did you become a stylist? What did your career start with?

People usually go into this profession either from art or fashion. I came from perfumery - when I lived in Russia, I was head of the perfumery sector in stores, I used to go on business trips, visit fashion houses, see how collections were created, I was plunged into this wonderful world ... And once I decided to never leave it, because it is my convinction that one should follow one&#39;s dream.

Where do you start when you come up with a styling theme for a magazine?

I am inspired by the work of my favorite designers and photographers - in particular, the works of British fashion photographer Nick Knight, leading fashion magazines, fashion shows ... Also, for me, New York is an inexhaustible source of inspiration.

Working in production, I manage to be in different roles, sometimes just as stylist, like in the Couture project with Troy Walker, who was the photographer and creative director. Sometimes I am the producer and organizer, as in the Beauty before Age project, created together with the photographer Alexandra Stepanova. I also constantly collaborate with my favorite photographer and coach Karina Poltavtseva.

What are the specifics of working with models aged 40+?

For me, every woman of this age has personality and charm. A 40+ model always knows how to make a photo attractive and full of life, how to convey her views and philosophy to the audience.

Which designers and brands do you like the most?

I like the designer brand Morphine very much, I can easily relate to their style, it meets my needs - to dress comfortably, but at the same time look different.

How would you describe your own style?

I think it could be described as dynamic. I love mixing different styles and textures - this is my favorite moment in my work, I like to experiment, wear things of complex cut, present them in an interesting way. Recently, I fell in love with overalls - they are both comfortable and eye-catching.

What are your favorite New York stores?

They say that stylists are people who love shopping. I totally agree! It is impossible to come to a boutique searching for costumes for a film and not look for something for yourself. I really love the Flying Solo design store. It is an independent platform for designers from all over the world, including those attending New York Fashion Week. I love to go there and discover new names first for myself, and then for my audience.

What are your favorite beauty products and fragrances?

Since I have been in perfumery for many years, I am crazy about perfume. At the moment my two favorites are the fresh and light Authentic from Abercrombie &amp; Fitch and Pink Molecule from Zarkoperfume, which evolves in different ways on different poeple. Speaking of makeup products, I really like the Shu Uemura foundations, in particular the Instant-Glow Cream, which &quot;adjusts&quot; to the skin tone and gives it a radiant, kempt, but very natural look. I love the shadows and eyebrow pencils of the British brand Illamasqua. They are light and pleasant, yet very long-lasting. Due to my professional activity I am obliged to always look good, for me these things are very important.

Special for L&#39;Officiel Baltic

The project&#39;s aim is to demostrate a modern attitude towards mature beauty (the older model is 73 years old) and the woman&#39;s ability to continue to be beautiful, full of energy, open to pursueing new dreams and accomplishments (including working as a model) at any age.
