For its&nbsp;scriptwriting freedoms

Like his first film adapted from the work of the novelist,&nbsp;Kenneth Branagh&nbsp;allows himself, once again, a few scriptwriting liberties with respect to the original screenplay.&nbsp;If they weren&#39;t really necessary in the&nbsp;Murder on the Orient Express, and didn&#39;t add anything more to the film, they pay off in the&nbsp;Death on the Nile.&nbsp;Tom Bateman, thus takes over the role of Bouc, the right arm of Hercule Poirot, which he held in&nbsp;Murder on the Orient-Express, a character who does not however appear in&nbsp;Agatha Christie&#39;s book.&nbsp;Annette Bening&nbsp;plays her mother, Euphemia, a new character invented for the film as well.

Then there&#39;s the famous scene from the 1978 film where Poirot gets attacked by a snake in his cabin, which helps divert his attention as a second murder takes place on the boat.&nbsp;Here,&nbsp;Kenneth Branagh&nbsp;instead suggests replacing it with a much more interesting scene, returning in particular to the real reason for the detective&#39;s presence on the boat, but also to the racism suffered by black people in the 1930s. wanted to bet on a more diversified cast, it is not limited to a simple representation, and alludes, for the time of a suffocating scene, to the realities experienced by Afro-descendants at this time in history.
