Valentino, Anatomy of Dreams: A Haute Couture Symphony in Seven Fragrances

In an olfactory opus that transcends conventional perfumery, Valentino unveils its masterly crafted Anatomy of Dreams collection—seven haute couture fragrances that distill the essence of Roman palatial grandeur and legendary runway moments into exquisite scent compositions. Moving beyond the ready-to-wear inspired variations of Born in Roma, this new collection emerges as an aromatic embodiment of Valentino's couture heritage.

A Convergence of Olfactory Artistry

The collection brings together an extraordinary ensemble of perfumers, from industry luminaries to emerging talents. Carlos Benaim and Daniela Andrier lend their seasoned expertise, while Paul Guerlain—grandson of the legendary Jean-Paul Guerlain—brings a fresh perspective steeped in fragrance royalty. Each nose contributes a unique interpretation of Valentino's dream-like couture universe, crafting scents that are at once edgy and timeless, sumptuous yet definitively genderless.

Bottled Dreams in Vibrant Hues

The fragrances are housed in vessels that are works of art in themselves—99% glass bottles crowned with the house's signature stud caps, each in a color that resonates with Valentino's rich chromatic legacy. The collection's visual cornerstone is the distinctive carmine-pink shade that pays homage to the iconic Fiesta red dress, created by Valentino Garavani in 1959.

A Septet of Sensory Masterpieces

Sogno in Rosso, crafted by Fabrice Pellegrin, marries the boldness of black pepper with the comforting warmth of morning cappuccino foam. Behind the Seen, a collaboration between Delphine Lebeau and Anne Flipo, presents in absinthe green, uniting earthy vetiver with hazelnut in an aromatic woodland symphony. The purple-hued Punk Romantic, Fanny Bal's olfactory masterpiece, creates an unexpected harmony between vanilla and Sicilian olive wood.

From Atelier to Essence

Nathalie Lorson's L'Innocence de l'Air captures the ethereal atmosphere of Valentino's haute couture atelier, where pristine white fabrics meet garden freshness, blending rose's delicate muskiness with vibrant green mandarin. Club Couture, a powdery-fruity creation by Carlos Benaim and Andrew Everett, orchestrates a dance between patchouli and fig, while Nicolas Bonneville's Private Talk stages an erotic dialogue between intoxicating tuberose and bitter cappuccino notes.

A Golden Night of Olfactory Opulence

Notte d'Oro, Paul Guerlain's contribution, evokes a candlelit evening in a baroque banquet hall, intertwining oud with Avola almond liqueur. As Guerlain explains, "I sought to capture the flamboyant aesthetics of the Middle East while reinventing oud with a modern almond twist, embodying the Maison's timeless elegance and its penchant for challenging conventions through contrasts."

The Art of Layering

For the ultimate in personalization, the collection introduces two enhancers: the radiant Bianco 1968, crafted by Jordi Fernández as a tribute to Valentino Garavani's historic Sala Bianca show, suffused with sophisticated white musk, and Rockstud Noir, Daniela Andrier's sensual sandalwood creation. These enhancers invite wearers to become perfumers in their own right, layering scents to create uniquely personal olfactory signatures.
