Prada Releases Surreal FW18 Campaign Film Starring Sarah Paulson
For Fall/Winter 2018, Miuccia Prada dreamed up a utopia where "women could walk the streets at night without fear". It's this dream that she makes a reality for Prada's new campaign film, which features model Amanda Murphy and Ocean's 8 star Sarah Paulson.
"Neon Dream" shows Murphy driving alone through what appears to be a nighttime Las Vegas and its famed Sunset Strip, while stylishly clad in an array of Prada's FW18 neon numbers: a padded tweed check jacket, a tulle dress, a pair of metallic ankle heels fastened with drawstrings and those Matrix-style Ultravox sunglasses.
However, surreal details of the Willy Vanderperre-shot film start to give away that the landscape is really one of Prada's making, such as the countless neon signs bearing Prada's motifs (including a gigantic one of the iconic flame heels) and a line-up of Marilyn Monroes led by Violet Chachki.
Adding on to the dream-like quality of the film is Sarah Paulson's multiple appearances, first as a valet, later as a roller skating waitress and even another Monroe clone. With how strange the film gets, we think it's a good thing that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
