Striving for balance and harmony in life, I weave together the threads of family, career, and self-care, all while nurturing my passion for the arts and fulfilling my purpose as a devoted mother and artist.
You&rsquo;re involved in a lot of different projects&mdash;what draws you to film, music, and fragrance?
My interests&mdash;such as film, music, and fragrance&mdash;are interconnected and all reflect my personal purpose: to heal and inspire others. I see my work as a platform for promoting growth, health, and mental well-being. My upcoming album, &lsquo;Mourning Doves of Joshua Tree&rsquo;, set for release in March 2025 under Manimal Records, is a significant focus right now. This album marks my third release, with two pre-release singles already catching the eye of major outlets like Rolling Stone, Paste, and Billboard. My gratitude for the community of fans and supporters I've connected with is immense.

Can you talk about the key moments in your life that have influenced your creative journey?
My life&rsquo;s journey has been closely tied to my personal and artistic evolution. Growing up in a Canadian horse village, nature left an incredible mark on me. While I initially pursued a business career and completed a degree in criminology, I was inevitably drawn back to the arts&mdash;particularly to theater, film, and music. My academic background provided a deep understanding of human rights and psychology, which now infuses my creative work, especially my advocacy for marginalized communities.
My childhood, though turbulent&mdash;with family dysfunction, some abuse, and the complexities of forgiveness&mdash;fueled my drive to use music as a medium for healing and connection. The birth of my twin boys, a spiritual and physical test, led to a profound journey of forgiveness and gratitude, grounding me in the path I follow today.
What advice would you give to people who look up to you and are inspired by your work?
Through my Instagram project, the Freedom Series, I stress the value of personal growth and resilience. Life&rsquo;s path can be lonely and uncertain, yet I urge everyone to embrace their own unique journey, often led by a higher power. My own career in the arts was forged despite a lack of familial support, so I advocate for fearlessly exploring new interests, even if they diverge from traditional expectations. What you love now might evolve; trust that each phase is part of a larger story. For me, the shift from acting to music&mdash;though initially resisted&mdash;eventually enriched my creative process and storytelling.

What does a typical day look like for you? Are there any routines that help keep you focused?
Daily rituals provide the essential structure that my creative career demands. For example, my mornings start with a strong coffee and preparing meals for my twins. I then dive into emails, creative tasks, and exercise, like running or, when in Joshua Tree, swimming and indulging in a morning salt bath. Self-care&mdash;float baths, saunas, and swimming&mdash;ensures both my mental and physical well-being. Writing and recording music, collaborating with other artists, and managing press commitments form the core of my work schedule. It&rsquo;s about finding a harmonious balance between self-care, family, and creative output.
Which music genres are closest to your heart?
My heart lies with folk, Americana, country, and rock, though my classical piano background heavily influences my songwriting. I&rsquo;m particularly drawn to the sounds of the 60s and 70s, with Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, and Johnny Cash being pivotal influences. The female energy of artists like Annie Lennox and Madonna from the 80s also resonates deeply with me. Recently, I find comfort in mid-century Americana, particularly during the holiday season, when artists like Gene Autry bring a certain warmth. Despite my core tastes, I maintain a broad appreciation for music, from indie rock to classical compositions like those of Arvo P&auml;rt.

How do fragrances fit into your life and creative process?
Over the last decade, I developed a light, natural body fragrance combining lavender and rose essential oils&mdash;clean, fresh, and free from allergens. This signature blend, born from a desire to avoid overpowering perfumes, eventually inspired my brand, Lovendar. Designed to be multipurpose, it can freshen rooms, linens, and, of course, the wearer. The scent is subtle yet revitalizing, making you feel invigorated without the need for a shower.

What message do you hope to share with your audience through social media?
My goal is to foster a sense of realness, to inspire growth and self-discovery through music and holistic living. My content revolves around healing, personal evolution, and feminine energy&mdash;highlighting traits like empathy, creativity, and resilience. Whether it&rsquo;s through music, fragrances, or my experience as a mother, I aim to create a space where followers feel encouraged to embrace their true selves and connect with a higher purpose.
What are your personal essentials for a happy life?
True happiness rests on three pillars: health, love, and success. Good health, both physical and mental, is the bedrock of fulfillment. Love&mdash;whether from family, friends, or community&mdash;provides emotional stability. Success is not merely professional achievement but the realization of personal goals and alignment with one's purpose. For me, a connection to a higher power, offering guidance and inner peace, is equally crucial. Happiness is a continuous journey of growth, resilience, and spiritual awareness.
