Gucci: Horsebit Loafers Anniversary and Men's Summer 2024 Collection
A birthday party at the Spazio Maiocchi space in Milan as part of Fashion Week? For the Horsebit Gucci loafers, it's a piece of cake! The brand celebrated the 70th anniversary of the iconic model with a large-scale exhibition in which ten talented creators took part and where the new spring-summer 2024 collection was shown.
The history of Horsebit Gucci began in 1953 - it was then that Aldo Gucci came up with the idea of adorning loafers with decorations in the form of horse bits, and named them accordingly.
The Spazio Maiocchi space was decorated like a country club for the anniversary, with every meter paying tribute to Aldo Gucci's design solution through audiovisual elements, photography, art and design.
Guests were greeted by a bright concept patio by architect and multimedia artist Garry Nureyev with a metal pool and horsebit-like chairs. Next, an unusual table with men's legs in cult shoes awaited the guests, the latter could also watch a film by Bolade Banjo telling the history of loafers as well as please the eye with light installations by designer Gyuhan Lee.
The highlight of the day was the introduction of the new men's collection, created by the Gucci team, a kind of prequel to the new creative director Sabato De Sarno's September show. Plotting Italian style!
