Nicolas Ghesqui&egrave;re celebrates ten years at the creative helm of womenswear with a Pre-Fall show at Shanghai's Long Museum and a pop collaboration with a young Chinese artist, Sun Yitian.

"The collaboration with Louis Vuitton completes and strengthens an important part of my concept... This project stimulated me to imagine a series of new ideas. The connection between my paintings on canvas and the viewer is somewhat static and silent, it's a kind of observation of my art from a certain distance. But when my works translate into a contemporary living element, whether it's a garment, an accessory, or a perfume, they acquire a more intimate dimension with people. And this interaction comes to life and becomes more unpredictable and unique, creating an equal relationship of use." In the words of young Chinese artist Sun Yitian, born in 1991, the spirit of the artsy-pop project created in tandem with Louis Vuitton is summarized and unveiled during the Pre Fall 2024 women's show, presented in recent weeks in the unique setting of the Long Museum West Bund in Shanghai, China's largest private museum founded by collector couple Liu Yiqian and Wang Wei.

The mastermind behind the project is designer Nicolas Ghesqui&egrave;re, the creative soul of LVMH's flagship brand's womenswear for ten years, who wanted to continue the Voyager journey of traveling shows around the world with this show, landing for the first time in China with a catwalk. In the spotlight are the stylistic elements that have accompanied the French designer in the aesthetic construction of Louis Vuitton's women's wardrobe, characterized by sophisticated eclecticism with futuristic features. All accompanied by the pop &amp; funny universe of the artist born in Zhejiang and becoming increasingly a point of reference in the local and global market thanks to her animal reproductions inspired by French philosopher Jean Baudrillard's concept of hyperreality.

Thus, Sun Yitian's cartoonish bestiary becomes the protagonist of the looks that animate the runway but also of the season's accessories. In a whirlwind of cheerful leopards, pink ducks and rabbits with monogrammed pupils, zebras, penguins, and ducks with tender gazes. Ready to decorate simple-cut coats as well as the brand's bags and seasonal shoes. The cherry on top is the collaboration with LV's beauty universe. Sun Yitian's work extends to three limited editions of perfumes. Each of the fragrances, created by master perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, has been paired with a guiding animal imagined by the artist (the pink rabbit for "Spell on You", the orange leopard for "Heures d'Absence", the yellow duck for "Imagination"). In a creative dialogue between fashion, beauty, and art, ready to build an aesthetic and cultural bridge between the charm of the City of Light and pop culture made in China.
