The haute couture week started with the Schiaparelli show. Daniel Roseberry presented the haute couture spring-summer 2024 collection. A fashion show dedicated to Elsa Schiaparelli's uncle, his fascination with planets and creatures of extraterrestrial worlds. Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya and Hunter Schafer were special guests at the show.

Elsa herself was fascinated by space and the planets, as well as astrology: "This collection is a tribute to their passion, as well as an exploration of contradictions: heritage and avant-garde, pure beauty and provocation, earth and sky. But as art (and nature) always teaches us, things and ideas that seem diametrically opposed to each other can come together to create amazing combinations," said creative director Daniel Roseberry.
These ideas are embodied in the "Schiaparalien" collection, a series of couture looks that combine traditional techniques such as guipure lace and braid, velvet and lace appliqu&eacute;s, and fringe with shapes, patterns and references to the new ultra-technological world of microchips, calculators and electronic devices. "These outfits also connect Elsa Schiaparelli's personal reference points with mine: you'll see abstract references to the iconography of my home state. Texas, starting with a bandana, here made of hand-painted sequins; thigh-length cowboy boots embellished with buckles; an iconic horse dressage braid repurposed as spikes from silk satin to cover a camel-colored suede bomber jacket; and a white denim corset dress."
