After a three-year hiatus, Mugler has returned back to the fashion calendar.

It's been three years since&nbsp;Mugler&nbsp;presented a collection during&nbsp;fashion week, easily marking this show as one of the most highly anticipated of the season. Already differentiating itself from other ready-to-wear collections that are set to be presented in the coming weeks, the&nbsp;French&nbsp;fashion house decided to have its runway show during Paris&nbsp;Haute Couture&nbsp;Fashion Week. The show took place Thursday at&nbsp;Paris&rsquo; cultural complex, La Villette. This is the first in-person runway show Mugler's Creative Director, Casey Cadwallader, exhibited since February 2020, prior to the COVID-19 lockdown.&nbsp;
After the death of Mugler founder,&nbsp;Thierry Mugler, last year, the Brooklyn Museum in New York City dedicated an exhibition in his honor,&nbsp;Thierry Mugler: Couturissime, which highlighted his importance and presence throughout&nbsp;20th-century&nbsp;fashion. Known for his architectural,&nbsp;avant-garde&nbsp;designs, Mugler's place in the fashion realm is dearly missed. But&nbsp;Casey Cadwallader, who was appointed as Mugler's Creative Director in 2017, has continued to prove himself as a force to be reckoned with.&nbsp;
Leather&nbsp;detailing, architectural shapes, and black&nbsp;lace&nbsp;trimming make up a large part of Cadwallader's Fall/Winter 2023 collection. The show's over-the-top sleeves and pant legs contrast the form-fitting waists. The juxtaposition between the simplicity of color (black being the primary color throughout the collection) and exaggerated, futuristic&nbsp;silhouettes&nbsp;proves Cadwallader's persistence as a successful designer whilst keeping Thierry Mugler's vision alive. The show combined both traditional runway walking and a&nbsp;technological&nbsp;aspect that featured models on a moving stand with a camera: this allowed for more artistry and variation in their performances.
