At the dawn of 15 years since the Peekaboo creation in 2008, the Peekaboo-K &nbsp;tells the story of an icon: the concept, the craft, the continuous evolution, innovation and interpretation of the Peekaboo, season after season, in terms of shape, scale, wearability, materiality, and personality.

Peekaboo's first runway spotlight corresponds to Women&rsquo;s Spring/Summer 2009 &ndash; when the entire collection was as an arrangement of enlarged volumes, tight waist slips and curved lines, clean-cut, almost surgical shapes.

The playful name Peekaboo refers to a traditional children&rsquo;s game, &ldquo;peek-a-boo, I see you&rdquo;. Initially, Silvia Venturini Fendi designated the name of the bag &lsquo;Hide-and-Seek&rsquo;, but a reversal eventually led her to choose Peekaboo, which best expresses the surprise effect of its interior compartments, which at the twist of its turnlock closure can reveal, behind the bag&rsquo;s signature &lsquo;smile&rsquo;, unexpected details and a hidden beauty equally luxurious as the outside.
The framed, architectural structure of the Peekaboo has the traditional shape of a trapezoid, clean and minimal, geometric, and curvilinear all at once. A study of opposite where sleek minimalism meets the contrast of precious textures and colours. The implied narrative is that of a new classic: an artisanal fashion, subtle and private, whose best face is the one that cannot be seen.
Just like the bag itself, the Peekaboo-K is an object to discovered and experienced: a limited-edition volume studied to embody the very essence of the Peekaboo and disclose its multifaceted aspects.&nbsp;
Starting from the outside, an axonometric cover with a three-dimensional construction is inspired by the colours of the Rose Black PeekabooISeeU bag, the emblem of timelessness and sophistication.&nbsp;
The inside presents a photography collection of 80 bags from FENDI&rsquo;s historical archive. The book is organized in four chapters, 20 bags per chapter. Each chapter presents a visual approach by a photographer from the worldwide creative and editorial scenario; introduced by a brief text from a &lsquo;Friend of the House&rsquo;.&nbsp;
The introduction of the Peekaboo-K is a conversation that brings together the voices of three women from different generations of the Fendi family &ndash; Silvia Venturini Fendi, Delfina Delettrez Fendi, and Leonetta Luciano Fendi.

Chapter 1 &ndash; Revising textures

Experimentation, engraving, chiseling, and fretwork on the surfaces of an icon: the Peekaboo's status as a cult classic has led it to be renewed in more than 1,000 material finishes and various sizes. Among the most influential fashion critics, French journalist and author Sophie Fontanel gives her own answer to the question &ldquo;Why is the Peekaboo a piece of fashion history?&rdquo;.

Transforming the bag into a masterpiece thanks to the collaboration with international architects, designers, artists, and creatives, invited by FENDI to customize a white canvas Peekaboo or create their own version of the bag during special occasions for the Maison.

In 2023 Japanese architect Kengo Kuma creates a Peekaboo using the yatara ami weaving technique, strands of bamboo creating fabric nets. In his preface, he reminds us that the bag owner's feelings are essential to its lasting appeal. Austrian artist and photographer, Isabelle Wenzel investigates on the border between design and art &ndash; curved lines and colors, the human being moves in an ancestral act of creation.

Chapter 3 &ndash; Eclectic Instinct

This is a tale about the variety of materials and references that the Peekaboo has incorporated into itself, a miscellany of inspirations that also come from afar, made matter with that playful yet refined spirit that is the essence of this bag.

Singer-songwriter, record producer and actress, Chloe Bailey is among the most influential voices of the new international art wave. Together with her sister Halle, she starred in the #MeAndMyPeekaboo campaign &ndash; a look into the future, in the sign of the new, and the eclectic. Austrian-born photographer Sebastian Lager recounts in pictures, emphasizes the concept of freedom &ndash; he inserts props made of paper in the scene, moving in balance on the edge of irony.

Codes and messages, values and symbols: the Peekaboo bears imprints belonging to the Roman Maison, from a mirrored FF logo, to the Pequin stripes, but also graphic and abstract signs.

Multifaceted, with hidden talents, she can choose to reveal at her own discretion, actress Naomi Watts &ndash; who starred in a chapter of the #FENDIPeekaboo digital initiative in 2021 &ndash; expresses the spirit of the FENDI woman. Hybridizing geometries with warm tones, London based photographer Adrien Dubost places the Peekaboo bag in a structured space of shapes and lines to highlight its essence. 
From the wink of an eye to the gape of smile &mdash; Peekaboo-K is a strong celebration of what the Peekaboo represents for FENDI: formal attributes mixed with a sophisticated taste for playfulness, subtle inflections that express wit and irony, and above all, strong personality, craftsmanship and masterpiece.
