1. Scrubbing
It sounds almost counterintuitive, but scrubbing away dead skin cells is the key to evenly tanned skin. At the beginning of the summer, you can best prepare your skin for the sun by treating your whole body at least twice a week with a scrub. To prevent your brown skin from shedding, keep repeating this ritual throughout the summer. The Talasso scrub from Collistar gives your legs a silky feel and better blood circulation.

2. SPF
We cannot proclaim it enough, but a product containing SPF should always be applied before sun exposure. With an SPF factor of 30, you already have good protection, but the face requires a minimum of SPF 50.

3. Drink Water
You lose more moisture in the sun, and your skin can dry out faster. Drinking enough water keeps your body hydrated and extends the life of your cells. Also that tanned skin of yours.
4. Aftersun
Even with SPF 50, your skin will have endured an intense radiant holiday sun. Take the time in the evening to extensively moisturise your skin with an aftersun- this will soothe your skin and hydrate it. For a fragrant pamper moment, we recommend using the Nuxe aftersun.

5. Cold Showers
A hot bath can dry you out, making your (still living) skin cells come off faster. Not the kind of peeling we want. A cold shower closes your pores and therefore, better protects your tan. Try a shower oil for a moisturizing effect.
6. Fake Tanning For Face
No part of the body that is exposed to UV rays as often as our face. Avoid the sun in your face at all costs, and choose a self-tanner to fake a tan. Nowadays there is plenty of choice for DIY self-tanners for the face. If necessary, mix your day cream with a self-tanner for an ultra-subtle result. Extra protection cannot hurt. A primer with SPF such as the UV Master from Armani gives you daily protection.

7. Moisturisers With Tanning Effect
A tip to enjoy your last holiday colour just a little longer is a self-tanner. Opt for a body lotion with a gradual self-tanning effect. It gives your skin a little extra glow and 'blend' naturally with your bronze complexion. Stains are not an issue here.
8. Bronzer
The finishing touch of a sun-kissed face is a bronzer in powder form. The trick is to apply your bronzer exactly where the sun would hit your face: on the forehead, nose bridge, and cheekbones.
9. Beta Carotene On Your Plate
Studies do not lie: beta-carotene (a type of red-orange pigment) in food can mimic a bronzed complexion. Sweet potato, apricots, mango and especially carrots naturally contain a lot of this nutrient. Worth trying.
