But, believe me, not every sign of aging is represented by an expression line that needs to be corrected (and paralyzed) by the botulinum toxin. It is possible to see, in addition, the lack of genotypes of genes such as SOD2 and CAT, which compromises the antioxidant capacity of the skin to respond well against the action of free radicals. In other words, these characteristics predispose the patient to have more wrinkles, to suffer more with photoaging,&rdquo; says Dr. Marcelo. &ldquo;There is also the genotype of the COL1A1 gene, linked to less collagen production. This has a high influence on the result of cosmetic treatments and also in the office.
