Neringa Siaudikyte is a Lithuanian singer and songwriter, now living in Los Angeles. She talked to L’Officiel Baltic 1000 Models about her career, her new single «ECHO» and her artistic projects.

Would you like to walk us through your journey up till now? Why did you choose&nbsp;a singer-songwriter career?

My music career started when I was 4 years old. My music teacher in the kindergarden noticed my singing talent. This is not unusual because my mother used to be a professional piano player. My family is very musical, it&rsquo;s in my genetics. But since I can remember myself I&rsquo;ve always wanted to become professional singer. I&#39;ve always known I would make it to the big stage. With a lot of hard work and passion, I made it happen.

What was your most cherished childhood memory?

I remember all the trips I took when I was a child to go to international singing competitions. My first trip to Berlin with my music teacher happened when I was 12 years old. I was competing with other talented children. I remember how excited I was. I was also scared but so excited at the same time. I knew back then, this is where I want to be &mdash; on stage.

What was the inspiration behind your new single &laquo;ECHO&raquo;? How was the recording process?

&laquo;ECHO&raquo; music video was a really long process. It took 2 years to release. A lot of changes were made, then right before releasing it I decided that I want to shoot a music video. When everything was ready &mdash; COVID-19 pandemic started. It was a very bad timing. I decided to wait. A year later I finally released it. I felt the time had come. I believe that every project has the right timing. It is not something you can rush. This single was the longest to release it. But I am happy my audience are finally able to enjoy it.

What message would you like to send out to your fans with &laquo;ECHO&raquo;?

All my songs are the story of my life, a certain period of time and situations that I overcome. Echo single is about me, starting a new chapter of my life, moving to the United States, starting my music career in LA. It is not easy to start over when you are an adult, it is about leaving my past behind me and looking forward to live a new life with a new me. I believe, everyone, has been in a situation, where you feel you are starting a new chapter in your life. This song is about it.

We have witnessed a large-scale lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic which has affected many of us, especially the live gigs and concerts scene in pop music. How do you cope up with the stress surrounding this issue. What do you have to say to your fellow singer-songwriters?

I would say &mdash; never stop being creative. No matter what it is. Life is full of tests and Covid was one of them. It was all about growth, how we can adjust a new way of living. There was a moment when I almost believed, we would never get back to normal. But history always repeats itself and we start over. It was a difficult time, but it turned out well for a lot of people. We need to trust the universe and be always ready to be flexible to adjust. That&rsquo;s the key to happiness and inner peace.

Have you ever had to face criticism or deal with trolls on social media? If yes, how did you deal with it?

Absolutely. I constantly experience a lot of criticism. I used to be very sensitive and emotional about it. But we can&rsquo;t give up, because there will always be someone who doesn&rsquo;t like what we do in social media or in music. Everyone has different taste. But I feel being in entertainment business made my skin thicker. If you can&rsquo;t handle criticism, you are in the wrong industry. You just have to get used to it.

If you could swap your life with another person, who would that be and why?

I would never want to swap my life, because the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. I believe no matter who you are, how rich, famous and important, in the end of the day we are all human beings. We all live a very simple life outside closed doors or without cameras and press attention. This is so important to understand that every career, especially a public one, has a big price to pay. Every person in the spotlight dreams about simple things. I could only swap a day of my life with someone who can teach me better control of emotions and better ways to navigate my life. I am grateful for whatever universe is giving me and I don&rsquo;t take it for granted.

What one line quote would you like to leave your fans with?

Always believe in your dreams and never give up on them. If you put your energy and efforts in them &mdash; the will be a result.

When should we expect your next single, or better, your next album?

We are working on a new song. My next recording will be in London. I would love to surprise my audience during the summer and hopefully it will happen.
