In the ancient walls of the H&ocirc;tel de Maisons Jonathan Anderson presented the most intimate and thoughtful Loewe collection. Instead of the usual fashion show, the Fall-Winter 2025 collection unfolded as a living archive, where the past and the present exist side by side, where the boundaries between tradition and experimentation are dissolved.

Each of the seventeen rooms of the H&ocirc;tel de Maisons told a story like a page from an old scrapbook, from Loewe's archival campaigns to contemporary artisanal innovations. Joseph and Anni Albers inspired the designers with their geometric art and textile experiments: silhouettes were built as a game of construction and deconstruction, while accessories took on new, unexpected forms. The reinterpreted classic Puzzle and Flamenco bags recalled the abstract compositions of &ldquo;Homage to the Square&rdquo;, while woven coats and textured accessories embodied layering and tactile depth.
Loewe has always played with optical illusions, but this time it went even further. Knitted dresses turned into sculptures, voluminous shapes seemed to flow around the body, and the skin suddenly became soft and draped, taking on architectural outlines. The world of familiar things was turned upside down: rings became tops, knit loops were enlarged to the point of absurdity, and slits revealed the inner mechanics of the garment, inviting you to look deeper than your usual perception.

The materials played with time and movement. Prince of Wales cage was suddenly transformed into metallized fringe, creating an effect of gradual disappearance and transformation. Beaded embroidered organza gave a sense of ghostly lightness, and Toy mules were now adorned with scattered glass beads. Even Ballet Runner 2.0 was given new life in the form of fluffy lambskin, adding softness and warmth to the looks.
But most of all, this collection felt like a nostalgic reinterpretation, like an attempt to look back at the past, not to repeat it, but to re-cognize its value. It was not just a clash between old and new, but a conversation between eras, where memories came to life and traditions took on new forms and meanings.
