CHANEL FW25/26: the theater of illusions and the magic of proportions
Under the glass dome of the Grand Palais, CHANEL plays out a spectacle of fashion illusions, where familiar silhouettes are transformed in a play of shapes, lengths and volumes. Under the guidance of Creation Studio, the Fall/Winter 2025/26 collection explores contrasts, proportions and layers, creating images on the edge of reality and dreams.
Here miniature jackets are combined with long pants, shirts are transformed into dresses, and a small black coat takes the form of a long dress with precious buttons. Traditional bows, ribbons, pearls and flowers go beyond the boundaries of the usual: they cascade down dresses, frame wrists, turn into massive jewelry. The black down jacket is adorned with a giant bow at the ankles, and the pearl thread suddenly becomes a crossbody bag.
But the visual trickery game isn't just about details, it's also about layering. Jackets made of grenadine tweed wrapped over skirts and pants, trench coats made of black lace with imitation fur, the lightest tulle overlaying strict suits create movement and transparency of the silhouette. Delicate jeans made of chiffon, silk imitating tweed and patterns of ribbons, as if swaying in the wind, add airiness and romanticism.
As always, CHANEL fashion remains poetic but confident, experimental but recognizable. This season is not just a collection, but a fairy tale played out on the catwalk, where the House's skill transforms the classics into modern art.
