Belonging to the same Zsidai family as Pest Buda, Baltazaar (further up the hill) was our next and last stop in Budapest. With suitcases and Armands’ aching back, we slowly approached the hotel, still soaking up the beauty of the old city around us.

We arrived late at night with no receptionist – just the Weiler studio room door open waiting for us. Half-asleep and tired, we stumbled into the small, two-floor apartment and headed straight for bed. I noticed the artwork, the shower I took, and the glass water bottles there. The bed was soft and comfy, so I fell asleep in a minute.

Living in Riga, I am spoiled by Art Nouveau and take it for granted, and I do not take it as seriously as I should. Nevertheless, the moment I bought tickets to Hungary, I knew I would visit and stay for at least one night in that building.
