Milan Fashion Week: what to see besides the fashion shows
From June 14 to 19, Milan was once again the capital of men's fashion, illuminated by the bright lights of the catwalks, where the hottest trends for next summer 2025 were presented. However, Fashion Week is not just a show, but a whole ecosystem of events, exhibitions, festivals and performances, creating new synergies between different spheres of expression.
Two major exhibitions are worth mentioning: "From Heart to Hand: Dolce&Gabbana" at Palazzo Reale and "Yoji Yamamoto. Letter to the Future" at 10 Corso Como Gallery. Visitors were able to peek into the creative process of iconic design houses and appreciate archival works from different years, tracing the evolution of styles.
At the MUDEC Museum until June 30, you can visit the exhibition "Martin Parr, Short and Sweet," which presents provocative works by the famous British photojournalist. And the exhibition "Tattoo. Stories from the Mediterranean" (until July 28) will allow you to make a curious journey into the world of the ancient tradition of tattooing.
On June 15, the presentation of the A-COLD-WALL* SS'25 collection in the format of immersive ceremonial space with video art installations, soundscapes and new realities took place at the Maiocchi 10 Gallery.
From June 17 to July 14, Palazzo Citerio hosts the "SWAROVSKI | MASTERS OF LIGHT" exhibition, featuring more than 50 stunning designs from renowned fashion houses studded with sparkling Swarovski crystals. You can also admire jewelry, figurines, crystals and outfits of stars from red carpets, in which shone Harry Styles, Katy Perry, Beyonce and other celebrities. Entrance is free!
The new exhibition "Terra Rossa" by artist Vasco Vitali will run until July 12 at the Antonia Jannone Disegno di Architettura Gallery. Viewers will be treated to paintings with a strong realistic effect, depicting tennis courts made of red clay from unusual angles.
During pride month, Raffles Milano will host two exciting exhibitions. "I Colpitori," curated by students, explores the world of boxing. And the experimental project "Blind Dates" was created under the guidance of Dutch artist and designer Eric Kessels - participants were randomly paired up and had to find a connection between unlike objects.
Among the past events it is worth mentioning the Terraforma Exo festival dedicated to sound and ecology (June 15-16 in Parco Sempione and Triennale). The program includes live performances, installations, sound walks and discussions with musicians and artists. And on June 14, the popular k-pop band OnlyOneOf performed at the Fabrique club as part of the promotional tour of their new album. And on June 15, the colorful open-air Holi Dance Festival took place at Carroponte.
There were also special events at establishments in the city. On June 14, the new cocktail bar Afterlove in the Isola district hosted a K-POP party with a themed menu and playlist. And on the panoramic terrace of Radisson Collection Hotel Santa Sofia from June 14 to June 28 there is Sake Sound Party - a series of events dedicated to Japanese culture with the participation of calligrapher Hiroe Namba, sake-based cocktails, gastronomic delights of chef Chiara Di Salvo and musical accompaniment of DJ Hiroko Hachchi. This is a true open-air immersion into the mysterious world of Japan with breathtaking views of the city.
During these hot days of fashion week, life in Milan is literally buzzing. Fans of nightlife will find plenty of fashion parties and art performances. For example, in the cultural center Fabbrica del Vapore, from June 18 to 19 will be held a festival of street fashion STREETY, where you can admire the works of emerging designers and artists.
